Bangladesh has invited Pakistani businesses to strengthen commercial relations and explore investment opportunities, saying closer engagement between the private sectors of both countries could significantly expand bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The invitation was extended by Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner, Mohammad Saqib Sadaqat, during a meeting in Karachi with a delegation led by Abdul Rehman Fida, President of the SITE Association of Industry.
The deputy high commissioner encouraged Pakistani industrialists to visit Bangladesh to explore trade and investment opportunities firsthand and assured them of the mission’s full support.
The meeting included detailed discussions on enhancing bilateral trade, expanding the range of tradable products, facilitating exchanges of business delegations, and improving trade facilitation between the two countries.
Abdul Rehman Fida emphasized the need to increase direct flights and maritime cargo services between Pakistan and Bangladesh, noting that improved logistics would reduce transportation costs and significantly boost bilateral trade.
The deputy high commissioner also urged Pakistani exporters to conduct comprehensive market research into Bangladesh’s import requirements and tailor their export strategies accordingly.
He described Bangladesh as a promising market for Pakistani products and investment, adding that the Deputy High Commission would extend every possible assistance to Pakistani traders and industrialists seeking to enter the Bangladeshi market.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the SITE Association delegation invited the deputy high commissioner to visit the association’s office to further strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
