QUETTA: A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck the Zhob district and surrounding areas late Thursday into Friday night, sending residents rushing into the streets in panic.
Initial reports gathered by MM News suggest that the tremor, centered 110 kilometers southeast of Zhob at a shallow depth of 12 kilometers, was felt strongly across Zhob, Quetta, and nearby villages, prompting many to recite the Holy Quran and pray for safety.
Though the quake was classified as mild by the Seismological Center, its shallow depth amplified the shaking, leading to widespread alarm, with women and children were among those who fled homes and shops, with some immediately gathering belongings and evacuating.
Rescue services report no casualties or significant property damage so far, but authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any emergencies immediately.
