QUETTA: A professor of the Balochistan Univesity who was kidnapped over the weekend has been recovered.
Spokesman for the Balochistan government Liaquat Shahwani had confirmed that the Dr Liaquat Sani Bangulzai, the head of Brahvi Department of Balochistan University, had been recovered and has safely reached home. He said the provincial government had vowed to recover the professor at all costs and congratulated him on his release.

The professor along with two other teachers of Balochistan University went missing while travelling to Khuzdar on Saturday for the inspection of an examination centre.
The two other teachers – Prof Shabbir Ahmed Shahwani and Professor Nizam Shahwani – were released by the kidnappers after two hours at an abandoned location in Kanak area along the Quetta-Taftan highway.
Security forces and members of intelligence agencies searched various areas in the light of the statement given by the two released teachers.
One of the released professors, Shabbir Shawani, told media they were going to Khuzdar in a car for inspection of an examination centre when armed men signaled the car to stop near Mastung.
He said the gunmen traveling in three cars dragged them out of their car at gunpoint and moved them into their vehicles after blindfolding and beating them. The vehicle was found abandoned in the Paringabad area of Mastung district
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, National Party president Dr Malik Baloch and members of civil society have condemned the kidnapping of the professor and demanded his immediate recovery. Prof Sani, who holds a PhD in the Brahvi language, has authored several books.
