SUKKUR: The train traveling from Sindh’s capital to Lahore suddenly caught fire midway when its express cabin started blazing in the small hours of the night resulting in two deaths.
According to Pakistan Railways sources, a sudden fire broke out in bogie number 17 of the Karachi Express from Karachi to Lahore at Tando Masti near Gambit station in Khairpur.
According to the sources, two people died in the incident, including the woman. During the fire, the woman jumped from the moving train, which killed her, while one person, who could not be identified, sustained burns in the affected bogie.
Railway sources say that due to the fire, the passengers jumped from the affected bogie to save their lives, and the railway staff controlled the fire with their help.

The railway authorities said that the cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained. The authorities said that the second engine has been ordered and the rear part of the train has been dispatched to Gambit, but the railway track is still suspended due to the accident.
On the other hand, different trains have been stopped at different stations, Pakistan Express has been stopped at Khairpur, Allama Iqbal at Tando Masti, and Tezgam at Mehrabpur.
