Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday visited Hungary and held a meeting with Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The foreign minister of Hungary expressed his country’s profound solidarity with the people and government of Pakistan, who are dealing with catastrophic floods and devastation brought on by climate change, according to the army’s media wing.
Hungary FM also announced an increase in the number of scholarships available to Pakistani students, from 200 to 400.
Hungary’s foreign minister also proposed collaboration with Pakistan in the areas of trade, agriculture, and water resource management technology.
In response, COAS Gen. Bajwa expressed his gratitude for the friendly nations’ goodwill and collaboration. Hungary’s partnership, according to Gen. Bajwa, will help manage the effects on the environment.
Later, he met with the commander of Hungary’s defense forces to address issues of both personal and professional concerns.
