Three people, including an 8-year-old girl and two women, were killed when armed men opened fire on nomad tents over an old rivalry in the Airport police station jurisdiction of Chak No. 250 Abbas, Faisalabad.
According to details, 8 to 10 armed men raided the nomad tents due to an ongoing feud. When the nomad women offered resistance, the suspects opened fire.
55-year-old Zubaida Bibi, 35-year-old Asma, and 8-year-old Muskan died on the spot. A 3-year-old toddler was injured after being shot in the face and was shifted to Allied Hospital Faisalabad for medical treatment.
Moreover, the attackers allegedly abducted a 15-year-old boy and took him along with them.
The suspects reportedly suspected that the nomad community had tipped off the police regarding a man’s death during a police encounter in Kasur.
Following the incident, police took custody of the bodies and launched operations to apprehend the suspects.
Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Abdul Karim took notice of the triple murder and demanded a report from the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Faisalabad, while directing the City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad to immediately arrest those involved in the shooting.
