KARACHI: Days after former mayor Karachi and Pak Sarzameen Party chief Syed Mustafa Kamal held a rally against the national census 2017, wall-chalking against him appeared in different areas of the metropolis.
According to details, PSP workers have expressed displeasure over the wall-chalking against the PSP chief. Talking to M.M News, PSP leader Shabbir Qaim Khani demanded that the police should trace the culprits and take immediate action.
“The police administration is responsible for stopping the provocative wall-chalking, but no action has been taken yet,” he said, adding that such provocative wall-chalking was meant to disturb the peace of the city.
He further claimed that Mustafa Kamal has been the favourite Mayor of Karachi. “Kamal Sahab has never been controversial in this regard. There may be miscreants behind such mischief,” he added.
“Wall-chalking against someone, especially using inappropriate words, is considered a breach of the Code of Conduct,” he said, demanding that the relevant authorities should take immediate actions against the culprits.
PSP chairman Syed Mustafa Kamal, while addressing a big rally in front of the Karachi Press Club (KPC), warned that his party would lock down Karachi if a fair census was not conducted in the city.
“We have never been fairly counted over the past 70 years as the state is afraid of counting us correctly. You are creating tomorrow’s terrorists by increasing the sense of deprivation in Karachi. However I refuse to step back and will fight till my last breath,” vowed Kamal.
He further said, “Today’s protest is just a trailer. We will shut down the city if census is not conducted fairly. We will stage sit-ins all across the city until the acceptance of our demand,” he said, adding, “Count us before we will make you count us correctly.”
