Cases of polio virus are on the rise in Pakistan as another case has been reported from Balochistan on Friday.
According to health officials, this is the first case of polio from Loralai district of Balochistan this year while overall so far 21 children have reportedly been affected by polio virus in Balochistan.
Overall in entire country total number of polio cases during the current year has touched 41. Federal Ministry of Health has advised parents to administer anti polio drops to children during the campaign starting from October 28.
Due to constant increase in polio cases in Pakistan, Brazil has decided to donate six million polio vaccines to the country.
Brazilian envoy to Pakistan Olyntho Vieira held a detailed meeting with Advisor to Prime Minister on Health Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmed in Islamabad.
During the meeting, Advisor to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Malik Mukhtar Ahmad said Pakistan and Brazil enjoying brotherly, close and cordial friendly ties and steps will be taken to further strengthen these relations.
He apprised Brazilian envoy about measures being taken to eradicate polio from the country.
They also discussed matters of mutual interest and strengthening of relations between the two countries.
Adviser to Prime Minister Dr Mukhtar said that the government is committed to eradicate polio as soon as possible while Pakistan and Brazil will adopt comprehensive measures to promote medical education in both countries respectively.
