LONDON: Pakistani-born British boxer Amir Khan has been robbed at gunpoint by two men.
Amir Khan in a tweet said that he was robbed of his watch at gunpoint by two men while out with his wife Faryal Makhdoom in Leyton, east London on Monday night.
Aamir Khan, who displayed his watches on social media, shared that he was crossing the road with his wife Faryal in the Leyton area of East London when suddenly two robbers came forward and pulled a gun on his head.
Frightened, Khan immediately handed over his watch to the dacoits and saved his life. Aamir Khan said that after that, the dacoits easily escaped in the car. The watch was priced at around Rs. 2 crores in Pakistani rupees. The watch was made of 19 Karat rose gold with 719 diamonds inlaid on it.
It may be recalled that in February, Aamir Khan had hinted at considering retiring from the game after a major defeat at the hands of British rival Kyle Brook. “Now that I’m getting older in terms of the sport, I want to spend more time with my kids and my family,” he said.
