An American woman caused a stir on the internet when she was discovered lying inside an overhead luggage compartment of a passenger plane.
Footage captured by Monique Guzman depicts the woman reclined beside a suitcase, while the voice of a flight attendant welcomes passengers aboard the aircraft. It remains uncertain whether the woman was a member of the crew or a passenger, but her actions have sparked suspicion online. Questions arose regarding how she managed to access the storage area.
Southwest Airlines, responding to inquiries from USA TODAY, stated that they are investigating the incident but did not disclose further details. According to Storyful, the woman was spotted on a flight from Albuquerque to Phoenix on May 6.
Guzman recounted to Storyful that she noticed a head protruding from the overhead compartment as she boarded the plane, noting that fellow passengers seemed unperturbed, casually passing by. Guzman added that a flight attendant discovered the woman before takeoff. However, it remains unclear whether she was removed from the bin and the duration of her presence there.

In a previous incident in 2019, a Southwest flight attendant had similarly nestled into an overhead bin as passengers boarded a flight from Nashville to Atlanta. At that time, the airline attributed the act to the attendant’s attempt at light-hearted humor.
Reacting to the clip, a user joked, “Her: WHO TF WAS THAT GIRL YOU WERE TALKING TOO? Him: The flight attendant asking me if I wanted water.”
Another wrote, “Well hello there.”
“The homeless are used to sleeping in boxes all thanks to the democrats,” a comment read.
An individual shared, “They allow white people to do whatever they want.”
One more added, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”
