The much-anticipated sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, is set to release worldwide on December 5. With over 12,000 screens booked across multiple formats, the film has generated immense excitement.
According to a report by Indian Express on Wednesday, the movie has already raked in over Rs 100 crore in advance bookings, breaking records. Industry website Sacnik reports that Pushpa 2 has grossed over Rs 30 crore in overseas pre-sales and more than Rs 70 crore domestically, including early premieres on December 4 evening.
This achievement makes Pushpa 2 the second Indian film of 2024 to surpass Rs 100 crore in worldwide advance bookings, following Kalki 2898 AD. It has now topped the advance booking charts, outpacing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR, which had earned Rs 58.73 crore in advance sales.
The film’s producers, Mythri Movie Makers, shared the news on social media, celebrating this remarkable milestone. Pushpa 2: The Rule is already set to be Allu Arjun’s biggest domestic and global opening, with pre-sales alone surpassing his previous record with Pushpa: The Rise.
Industry insiders predict a blockbuster start, with estimates suggesting an opening gross of over Rs 200 crore in India and up to Rs 300 crore worldwide. The sequel continues the story of Pushpa Raj, played by Allu Arjun, and is expected to explore his relationships and ongoing rivalry with Bhanwar Singh Shekawat (Fahadh Faasil).
With impressive advance sales and positive word of mouth, Pushpa 2: The Rule is primed for record-breaking box office success.
