In Bahawalpur, the eyes of an alleged thief were gouged out by five individuals at village 13-Soling, under the jurisdiction of Baghdadul Jadid police station on Monday.
According to media reports, the suspects subjected Sufian to torture over accusations of stealing a donkey cart. During the ordeal, they allegedly gouged out his eyes. Reports indicate that Sufian has lost vision completely in one eye, while the other eye has suffered serious damage. He also sustained torture scars on various parts of his body.
In response to the incident, following directives from DPO Asad Sarfraz, a police team was dispatched to apprehend the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the victim was admitted to the emergency ward of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).
A police spokesman indicated that the motive behind the brutal crime was a land dispute. Additionally, one suspect, identified as Iqrar Hussain, has been arrested out of the five involved suspects, while raids are being conducted to arrest the remaining four.
