A Lahore-based TikToker, Sanorita, has recently been in the news over allegations of sexual assault and the leak of an obscene video. However, she has denied these claims, saying that she has no connection to the scandal.
According to social media reports, Sanorita and her friend were allegedly invited to an office where three men sexually assaulted them and recorded videos of the incident.
The controversy escalated when social media users began sharing the text of an FIR, which purportedly stated that the accused had invited Sanorita and her friend to a meeting under the pretext of filming promotional content for his business brand, before engaging in unlawful behavior.
Some commentators claimed the matter involved consensual relations, while others argued the case was fabricated after explicit videos leaked, in an attempt to portray the individuals as innocent. The debate also raised questions about police practices, with users asking why charges under Section 376 PPC (rape) are often applied even when the relationship may have been consensual.
A third perspective emerged when Sanorita herself publicly rejected the allegations. In a video statement, she clarified that neither she nor her friend had been subjected to any kind of assault.
“The FIR and viral news are completely false and baseless. I reject these rumors and appeal to the public not to believe such claims,” she said.
Sanorita stressed that the circulating information not only harms her reputation but also misleads the public. She urged social media users to avoid spreading unverified information or rumors further.
