The sequel to the 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, has been officially announced today, September 10. Harshvardhan Rane will reprise his role as the lead actor in the new film. The production team is currently looking for a director to take charge of the project.
An official spokesperson shared, “We’re excited to confirm that Sanam Teri Kasam 2 is happening, with Harshvardhan Rane returning as the lead actor. The storyline for the sequel is set, but we are still in the process of selecting a director. Soham Rockstar Entertainment is dedicated to finding a talented director who can create a sequel that meets the high expectations of our audience.”
Harshvardhan Rane expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the film series, saying, “Coming back to Sanam Teri Kasam feels like reconnecting with an old friend. The support and love from the audience over the years is truly touching. I’m excited to work on this sequel and contribute to a story that honors the original while exploring new directions.”
The sequel will be backed by Soham Rockstar Entertainment. Deepak Mukut from the company stated, “We have a fantastic story lined up for Sanam Teri Kasam 2, and with Harshvardhan Rane returning, we’re committed to making a sequel that will resonate with our fans.”
In addition, the original Sanam Teri Kasam will be re-released in October for fans to enjoy. Although the film did not perform well at the box office, it has gained a special place among audiences for its emotional love story and the chemistry between its lead actors.
Meanwhile, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, who worked on the first film, are developing a new love story titled Janam Terii Kasam, which will feature Himesh Reshammiya.
