Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is all set to make her Met Gala debut this year in May.
The 30-year-old will walk the most coveted red carpets at the Metropolitan Museum in New York on May 1, 2023 (May 2, 3:30 am IST), alongside the biggest celebrities in the world.
Having gained a lot of critical acclaim for her acting skills at home, Alia Bhatt turned her attention to Hollywood and is now all set to feature in Tom Harper’s directorial, Heart of Stone.
The movie also stars Gal Gadot of Wonder Woman fame as well as Jamie Dornan from 50 Shades Of Grey. The film will reportedly release on August 11, 2023, and her debut at one of the biggest fashion events in the world comes in anticipation of that.
This is a great moment for South Asian representation and Alia’s a fitting addition to Gurung’s impressive roster of celebrity clientele ranging from Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey to Sarah Jessica Parker and Deepika Padukone, who also wore a red number by Prabal at the 2018 Met Gala.
The decision to go with Gurung for her Met Gala debut this year is fitting, given that the theme this year is “a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld” and Prabal’s connection to him.

Alia tied the knot to longtime boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in an intimate ceremony in April 2022 and then turned mother to her daughter Raha, in November.
Besides that, Bhatt has a few big screen appearances scheduled for the year. She will be seen opposite Ranveer Singh in Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which marks Karan Johar’s return to direction after seven years.
The film is set to be released on July 28, 2023, and will be closely followed by the release of Heart of Stone. We can’t wait to see which moves this powerhouse makes next!
