LAHORE: Pakistani singer Ali Zafar is currently shooting for a music programme which will be showcased before the opening match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6 in Istanbul, disclosed the PCB on Sunday.
Pakistani musician Ali Zafar will be part of the Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) 6 music programme which will be aired before the opening match of the league.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan said that the singer, however, will not lend his vocals to the song although will star in the music show as an actor.
“Naseebo Lal is among four artists who are shooting for the programme in Istanbul, adding that it will be edited and shown on TV,” he added.
The first match of the PSL will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi on Saturday, February 20 between the Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators.
The anthem ‘Groove Mera’ of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 featuring Aima Baig, Naseebo Lal, and Young Stunners had broken all the records of the previous anthem by becoming a top trend on YouTube since its release.
So far the views of ‘Groove Mera’ on Youtube have reached nearly 4.5 million. The new anthem caused a stir as soon as it was released. The song nearly reached two million in just 24 hours since its release.
Sung by renowned Punjabi singer Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, and hip hop band ‘Young Stunners’ while it is composed by Zulfi and Adnan Dhol, the music video features national team captain Babar Azam, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan, Quetta’s Sarfraz Ahmed, Lahore Qalandars ‘Shaheen Shah Afridi, Multan Sultans’ Shaan Masood, and Peshawar Zalmai’s Wahab Riaz.
The anthem also highlights the current situation of the global epidemic coronavirus, where stadiums are empty but fans are seen sitting in front of TV screens in their homes watching the match.
