Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey will no longer be joining Islamabad United for the remainder of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 season, as confirmed by the franchise on Friday.
Carey, initially brought in as a replacement for South African batter Rassie van der Dussen, is now unavailable due to his commitments in Australia. His domestic team has reached the final of the ongoing season, making it impossible for him to participate in PSL 10.
The management of Islamabad United has acknowledged and expressed understanding of the situation, while confirming that Rassie van der Dussen is expected to rejoin the squad soon.
“Unfortunately, Alex Carey will not be part of our campaign this season since his team has advanced to the domestic final in Australia. We wish him all the best. On the bright side, Rassie van der Dussen will be joining us soon,” the franchise announced.
