Actresses who played Kim Mo Mi in ‘Mask Girl’

Mask Girl, which is streaming on Netflix, is more than just a story about a woman wearing a mask. It’s based on how one irrational decision can have unpredictable consequences. 

Maining unnatural beauty standards in South Korea is nothing new, such portrayals are commonly shown in K-dramas as well, but Netflix’s recently released series is darker than it seems.

The drama is centered around an average-looking woman Kim Mo Mi who is best recognized as a woman whose appearance is shielded by a mask.

In ‘Mask Girl’, three actors play the protagonist Mo-mi, each playing by different character. Below, all the actresses who went behind the mask as the titular star have been mentioned accordingly.

1) Lee Han Byeol

Lee Han Byeol is the first actress playing the initial role as Kim Mo Mi. In the series, she is an average-looking office worker whose dreams of finding stardom are weighed down by societal beauty standards.

However, at night, she hides her real identity under a mask on live streams under with the name of  ‘Mask Girl’.

2) Nana

Nana who is the South Korean singer and actress who plays the second role of Kim Mo Mi goes under surgery and lives her life a new life by moving to a different city, where she performs at nightclubs under the name of A-reum.

3) Go Hyun Jung

The third role was played by Go Hyun Jung who is now completing a sentence of life imprisonment in the series is shown as an elder Kim Mo Mi now imprisoned in jail after stabbing her colleague to death. 

Model Zizian as ‘Mask Girl’

The show makers actually had a different actress behind the disguise. The Korean model Zizian performed as a body double for Kim Mo Mi.

According to her Instagram post, her filming process involved tons of choreography and dance sessions for the role.
