QUEENSLAND: Famous American Actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson have been tested positive for the coronavirus.
A 63-year old Oscar-winning actor who is in Australia revealed the news himself on Twitter after seeking medical advice after experiencing symptoms of a cold.
As per reports, they will now spend time in isolation, he posted the news on Twitter.
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” he posted it on Twitter.
He continued writing, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety require. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”
Both husband and wife arrived in Australia to film an untitled Elvis Presley biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann. Hanks was supposed to play Presley’s manager Colonel Tom Parker. The film, currently slated for release in October 2021, has suspended production.
Australia has confirmed more than 120 cases of infection, with three deaths from COVID-19.
