The Met Gala will return to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, bringing together a host of prominent figures from fashion, film, music, and art for an evening of curated exhibition viewing, fine dining, and cultural celebration.
Held annually at the museum in New York City, the Gala is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious events in the global fashion calendar.
Renowned for its elaborate red carpet presentations, the Met Gala consistently features attire that blurs the line between fashion and fine art. This year’s theme, “Tailored for You,” is aligned with the Costume Institute’s forthcoming exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which will open to the public on May 10.
Superfine explores the tradition and evolution of Black dandyism, tracing its roots from the 18th century through the Harlem Renaissance and into its enduring influence on contemporary fashion.
The 2025 Met Gala red carpet will begin at approximately 5:30 PM ET, with a live broadcast commencing at 6:00 PM ET and continuing until around 8:00 PM ET.
Ahead of this year’s event, we revisit some of the most memorable looks from the 2024 Met Gala.
