ISLAMABAD: Zahir Jaffer, the main suspect in the murder of Noor Mukadam, has reportedly confessed to killing her.
According to Islamabad police, Zahir Jaffer admitted to murdering Noor Mukadam before the investigators. However, he kept shuffling his statements regarding the purposes of murdering her.
The police also recovered CCTV footage of Noor being subjected to torture by Zahir that showed the victim trying to escape from the house by jumping from the first storey and rushing towards the main gate.
In the footage, Noor hid in a guard’s room after finding the gate locked, later Zahir in the footage can be seen breaking into the room and dragging her back into the house.

On Monday, an Islamabad court extended the physical remand of Zahir Jaffer by two days. Police are currently interrogating Jaffer and household staff who were in the house when the crime was committed.
Jaffer was produced in the court of duty magistrate to obtain seven-day physical remand to recover mobile phones and other items as evidence. However, the magistrate extended the remand for two more days. The investigators have sought physical remand of the accused for the third time since he was taken into custody on July 20.
The court was told that the mobile phones of the accused and the victim are still missing, They added that the victim had her mobile phone till late in the evening as she had talked to her father. The police investigators have been grilling Zahir Jaffer, his parents and guards in order to recover the mobile phones but have remained unsuccessful.
Earlier, the police added four more sections of the Pakistan Penal Code to the FIR related to concealing and abetment and arrested the alleged killer’s parents, Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Jaffer, as well as two household employees.
They also recorded a statement from Jaffer’s father, who said he was at a business meeting in the city of Karachi at the time of the murder.
