TOKYO: Young weightlifter Talha Talib might have narrowly missed out on winning an Olympic medal for the country but has won the hearts of millions of Pakistanis.
21-year-old Talha Talib, who participated in the biggest sporting event Olympics 2020, did not win any medal but won the hearts of all Pakistanis in the magnificent competition. He finished fifth in the 67kg category with an overall impressive lifting of 320 kg of weight, however, lost 2 kg and lost the medal.
In the 67kg weightlifting category, Pakistan’s Talha Talib lifted 144kg in the first round of the snatch, then 147kg in the second round, and 150kg in the third round, placing second in the snatch category. In the in clean and jerk category, Talha Talib lifted 166 kg in the second round and could not lift 166 kg in the first round.
