Police arrest man for torturing woman in Rawalpindi

According to details, after the video of violence against the woman went viral on social media, CPO Rawalpindi took notice of the incident and ordered action. SHO Airport and team traced the accused,

The victim said that the accused was her relative who wanted to get her divorced and then marry him, which she refused.

The victim said that the accused tortured her for refusing to get a divorce from her husband. Rawalpindi police said that the accused will be challenged with solid evidence and will be sentenced.

CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younis said that violence against women is not tolerable, such accused will not escape the law. “We will meet all the legal requirements to punish the accused,” he maintained.

Earlier, a case of violence against a boy and a girl came to light and Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the perpetrators to be brought to justice. Yesterday, the physical remand of all the accused in the case was extended till 12th July.

According to police, the video of violence and sexual harassment against a boy and a girl is about seven months old and recently went viral. The victim’s name is Asad, a resident of PWD Lohi Bher and owns a property office on Service Road in Sector F-11.
