ISLAMABAD: Around 1,737 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan while 25 more civilians have died due to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), coronavirus infected a total of 969,476 people across the country, while the virus killed 22,520 civilians.
During the last 24 hours, 47,528 tests were carried out to diagnose coronavirus, bringing the total number of tests to 149,060,221. In the last 24 hours, 774 patients were infected with the virus, bringing the total number of healthy people to 911,383 and the number of active cases of the virus to 35,573.
Coronavirus affected 347,553 people in Punjab, 344,223 in Sindh, 139,008 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 27,781 in Balochistan, and 83,400 in Islamabad. In Gilgit-Baltistan, 6,700 people were affected by the virus, while in Azad Kashmir, 20,811 cases were reported.

Coronavirus killed 4,348 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 317 in Balochistan, 782 in Islamabad, 111 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 591 in Azad Kashmir. Earlier, the Economist ranked Pakistan third in the list of countries and territories controlling coronavirus, after Hong Kong and New Zealand, based on scoring against the virus.
According to a report published by The Economist, Pakistan’s score was 84.4 which is ranked third on the list. The United States ranks 20th on the list with a score of 72.8. Nigeria is the next most important country after Pakistan.
