The death of Bollywood veteran actor Dilip Kumar shocked not only Bollywood but celebrities and political parties across the border too.
Famously known as Dilip Kumar was born as Mohammed Yusuf Khan. He was also known as the “first khan” of Bollywood. He breathed his last at 7.30 am today at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai where he was admitted on June 30 after he complained of breathlessness. He was 98 and survived by his wife, actor Saira Banu.
Many political leaders, actors, and famous public figures from both India and Pakistan offered condolences over his death including Prime Minister Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Expressing the grief, the president, prime minister, and Indian premier posted a heartfelt note on their respective Twitter accounts.
Saddened to learn of Dilip Kumar’s passing. I can never forget his generosity in giving his time to help raise funds for SKMTH when project launched. This is the most difficult time – to raise first 10% of the funds & his appearance in Pak & London helped raise huge amounts.
