KARACHI: The acquisition of admit cards became a nerve-wracking exercise for the matric students of Karachi as they had to remain on their toes till Friday night while their examinations are only three days away.
As per details, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Karachi has failed to deliver relevant documents to students for appearing in the matric examination, staring from July 5. Students are suffering to get the admit cards and date sheet for the examination.
According to the details received by M.M News, the Board of Secondary Education has selected the examination centers of their own choice. The process of allegedly changing examination centers on the basis of bribery is still underway. Fahim Mughal, assistant controller of the board, is changing the examination centers, by receiving Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 as bribe.
Due to the negligence of the board officials, a school in Korangi has been selected for the examination center, which has been closed for the past four years. When contacted the school officials, it was learned that the school had been closed for the last four years and its building had been sold.
Chairman Pakistan Private Schools Association Pervez Haroon, when contacted, said that his association tried to discuss the issue of making abandoned school an examination center with the Acting Controller, but he refused to comment.
Pervez Haroon further said the authorities have failed to provide basic necessities to the primary and secondary schools in the metropolis despite having a million rupees budget. “Due to the negligence of the BSE Karachi, the students and their parents are suffering and no one is taking any action against them,” he added.
A total of 348,249 students will appear for the Science and General Group regular and private examinations for the ninth and tenth classes this year. This year, 438 examination centers have been set up, including 185 government schools and 253 private schools.
