Sent into bat first, Kings’ opener Sharjeel kept his nerves calm despite watching his partner Babar Azam being bowled out by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Sharjeel made the most of a couple of drop catches and struck five boundaries and six maximums to score 64 runs.
Mohammad Nabi supported Kings’ score and scored 57 runs off 35 balls with the help of four boundaries and three sixes. Daniel Christian remained unlucky and got run out after scoring quick 27 runs off 14 balls laced with five boundaries.
For Qalandars, Shaheen Shah Afridi bagged three wickets while Haris Rauf, Ahmed Daniyal, Samit Patel and David Wiese shared a wicket apiece.
In reply, Amir bagged two wickets in a row in the first over to reduce Qalandars to 0-2. Mohammad Hafeez was expected to do wonders following his brilliant form but Dunk and Fakhar were the highlights.
The duo smashed the bowlers all around the park and took complete hold of the match. Fakhar got out after scoring 83 runs off 54 balls with the help of eight boundaries and four sixes. Whereas, Dunk remained not out for 57 spread over five boundaries and two sixes. For Kings, Mohammad Amir, Waqas Maqsood and Daniel Christian bagged a wicket each.
So @lahoreqalandars have won a massively important toss and will field first. Can @KarachiKingsARY break the trend and win defending a total? #HBLPSL6 | #MatchDikhao | #KKvLQ pic.twitter.com/AW77iYOW89
