ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that Maryam Nawaz started backdoor contacts with the government to flee from the country.
On a social media website Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry said that Prime Minister Imran Khan outright rejected Maryam’s request. He wrote that the PML-N Vice President should fulfill her desire to run a movement but for that, she has to stay in Pakistan.

Separately earlier today reflecting on the same matter, federal information minister Shibli Faraz commented that Maryam’s claims and messages imply her desire to leave for London, which he said will never materialize.
The minister said instead of renewing her father Nawaz Sharif’s passport, Pakistan will send him a travel document, in an apparent reference to his absconding from accountability cases in Pakistan.
Earlier on Saturday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that talks were in progress with the British government to bring back Nawaz Sharif.
