FAISALABAD: A 22-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming poison after killing her friend in Faisalabad on Monday.
According to sources, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Sahiyanwala police station when a 22-year-old girl Shakira entered the house of her friend from the roof and opened fire, as a result, a 24-year- old Muqaddas suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
Another woman identified as Shazia also sustained injuries in the incident, police said. Police further said the girl who fired the shots also ended her life by consuming poison.
After receiving information, police and rescue officials reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. The cause of the shooting has not yet been ascertained, said police.
Meanwhile, a case of the incident was lodged and police have launched an investigation. Earlier, a man committed suicide after killing his son and injuring his wife over a domestic dispute in Karachi.
According to the police, the man named Rizwan had contracted two marriages and differences erupted when he bought a house for his second wife. Following a verbal fight with his first wife and son over the matter, Rizwan lost his temper and opened fire on them at his house in Gaddafi Town.
His son, Waqas, and first wife, Fatima were rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced his son dead on arrival. Meanwhile, the man took his own life by shooting himself.
Hospital sources said that his wife suffered three bullets while his son received one bullet which proved deadly. However, Fatima is said to be in critical condition at the hospital.
