KARACHI: Sindh government has established three COVID-19 Vaccination Centres in District Central of Karachi Division for vaccination of healthcare professionals.
So for, a total of 10 COVID-19 Vaccination Centres had been established in Karachi Division out of which three were in District Central, two each in District South & District East, one each in District West, Korangi and Malir.
According to Sindh Health Department officials, the new COVID-19 Vaccination Centers has been set up in Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad, Sindh Government Children Hospital North Nazimabad and Sindh Government Hospital New Karachi.
The health officials said three COVID-19 Vaccination Centres had been established in District Central to vaccinate front-line healthcare workers including doctors, paramedical, nurses and other staff.
An estimated 1800 healthcare professionals would be vaccinated at Sindh Government Children Hospital North Nazimabad and Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad, the officials said.
In the first phase, about 1200 healthcare workers would be administrated the COVID-19 vaccine in Sindh Government Hospital New Karachi.
Meanwhile, Sindh’s health minister Azra Pechuho said the province will begin its COVID-19 vaccination drive from February 3 with its medical and paramedical staff, termed frontline workers, to get jobs in the first phase.
At least eight more patients of the COVID-19 died during the past 24 hours in Sindh, taking the total death toll to 4,400 in the province.
Sharing the statistics of COVID-19 cases, CM Murad Ali Shah said that 478 more people tested positive for the novel coronavirus during the same period, bringing the total number of such cases to 18,739.
