LOWER DIR: An education officer was found dead in the Bandagai Talash area of Lower Dir, according to police said.
Police said the officer identified as Gul Mohammad, a resident of Kotkay village, worked as an assistant sub-divisional education officer (ASDEO) in Munda tehsil found dead in the Bandagai Talash area.
They said that someone passerby informed police about the presence of a dead body near the main road. A police official said that the deceased was shot dead with a pistol at point-blank range.
Police said the deceased left behind nine children, adding that the killer also took away the mobile phone of the officer. His car was also found parked near a filling station in Bandagai Talash.
According to his family, the deceased after getting frequent telephone calls left the house at about 6 pm on Wednesday. The family has no enmity with anyone. Police started further investigation into the murder after registering a case against unknown persons.
The deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in the presence of hundreds of local people and teachers.
