PDM being complicit in anti-Pakistan designs: Shibli Faraz

MM News Staff by MM News Staff
December 29, 2020

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz has strongly criticized the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), saying that the 11-party-alliance was being complicit in anti-Pakistan designs.

“Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has been reduced to wreckage themselves and thus they cannot come close to toppling the incumbent government,” he said while addressing a press conference after federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

The information minister asserted that the bubble of en masse resignations and vandalism has burst and the hype of PDM has fizzled out. “Disintegration has started amongst the opposition parties,” he added.

“Similarly, sane elements of Pakistan People’s Party have opposed tendering of resignations from the parliament,” he pointed out, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan has clearly described that offering NRO to the corrupt leaders will be treason.

He further said that the government is ready for talks with the opposition in parliament but there will be no compromise on our commitment to accountability.

Talking about the other decision taken by the Cabinet, he said that the premier has expressed the resolve to eliminate hunger from the country by extending support to the deserving people through Ehsaas Program.“Imran Khan is committed that nobody across Pakistan should be left hungry,” he added.

The Minister also said the cabinet was briefed that anti-encroachment drive in the federal capital was continuing and all illegal structures will be removed within six months.

The meeting was also updated about COVID-19 pandemic situation in the country. He said that with the blessing of Almighty Allah, Pakistan has become self-sufficient in manufacturing Corona related equipment.

The federal minister said the cabinet also discussed a disinformation network, recently unearthed by the European Union, against Pakistan to hit our economy, institutions and spread chaos in the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Petroleum Division Nadeem Babar said that the cabinet also discussed the gas situation in the country. “The government has made arrangements of importing 12 cargoes of LNG to meet the energy requirements of the next month,” he added.

He assured that there will be no planned load-shedding of gas for export, domestic, and commercial sectors. “Despite the delay of 18 months caused by the Sindh government, we have completed construction of 17 kilometer long gas pipeline on 24th of this month,” he added.
