Maulana Fazl’s power

Umar Farooq by Umar Farooq

The second phase of the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) anti-government has started under which rallies are being held in different cities. In this regard, the first rally was held in Mardan in which a large number of people participated and the opposition leaders once again lashed out at government.

The political temperature of the country is kept rising as PDM approaches resignations and long march. A fierce campaign has been launched against Maulana Fazlur Rehman by some elements. It is clear that this campaign is being carried out to subdue him and to withdraw from the anti-government movement.

This is not the first time that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has had to face such a dreadful campaign, some political leaders and unseen forces have done this many times before. But all the attempts and conspiracies have failed before and Maulana Fazlur Rehman has always been successful.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman is the leader of the anti-government movement and the only threat for the government and establishment. On one hand, government ministers are venting their anger by telling false stories of corruption against Maulana Fazlur Rehman, on the other hand, NAB inquiries are being threatened.

It was only a matter of time before the rift would emerge within the JUI-F over the PDM’s narrative. The most vocal statement came from senior JUI-F leader Maulana Sherani who spelled doom for the PDM, saying it will fail in its strategy to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government.

Centre is also playing dual games with Maulana. On one hand, the government says that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s life is in danger and on the other hand, the security that was with Maulana is being withdrawn. The government is not only trying to solve the country’s problems as much as it is trying to bring down Maulana.

Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered his spokespersons to assassinate Maulana’s character, saying that it is time to hold Maulana accountable. But at the same time, it is reported that the CDA has approved the plan of Prime Minister’s house without reviewing the master plan of Islamabad.

After nearly three years since this government came to power, the government has not been able to bring up a single case of corruption against Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Instead of improving its performance, the incompetent government focuses on crushing the opposition. PML-N and PPP are also facing internal uprisings.

Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jameel had also joined hands with the federal government, but the latter did not benefit from his support. However, the personality of Maulana Tariq Jameel was definitely tarnished.

It wasn’t the time for Maulana Sherani to start a rift between the party. He has also lost much of the public support after talking about recognizing Israel. Maulana Fazal, meanwhile, is getting strong and now became an iron wall.
