AUCKLAND: Another national cricket team member in New Zealand has tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the tally of infected individuals to seven.
The coronavirus test report of other members besides the affected person has been negative. The third coronavirus test of the national squad is likely to be held in New Zealand on 30th November and the ban on training the national squad will remain in place due to fears of the spread of the virus.
Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand has been overshadowed by the cancellation as the New Zealand government has issued a final warning to the Pakistani team. Six members of the 53-member squad Men in Green tested positive on Tuesday when the team landed in the country from Pakistan and began its mandatory 14-day stay in managed isolation.

Earlier, Sarfraz Ahmed, Rohail Naziz, Naseem Shah, Muhammad Abbas, Abid Ali, and Danish Aziz were also affected by a coronavirus. The New Zealand government has said that the entire team will be deported for violating the upcoming coronavirus SOP.
On Friday, the health ministry said the team’s conduct had “significantly improved” after the warning was issued.
“We thank members of the team for their co-operation with the case investigations following the announcement of positive cases within the team,” the Ministry said. “Co-operation and compliance are critical in ensuring New Zealand is kept safe from COVID-19.”
