LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has filed a petition for the release of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz on parole.
PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar’s application for parole was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner. The petition said that Shehbaz Sharif should be released for two weeks to attend the funeral of his mother and Hamza Shahbaz to attend the funeral of his grandmother.
The petition also said that Shehbaz Sharif, the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, and Hamza Shahbaz in the Punjab Assembly and people from all over the country have come to offer their condolences. In view of this, two weeks of parole has been requested.

It was further said that Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz should be released immediately to share this grief with their families and loved ones. On the other hand, the Punjab government had already decided to allow the two leaders to attend the funeral prayers.
It should be noted that preparations are being made to bring back the body of Nawaz Sharif’s mother from London and the funeral prayers of Begum Shamim Akhtar will be offered at Sharif Medical City.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is likely not to visit Pakistan due to the ban on personal physicians. Begum Shamim Akhtar, the mother of Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President League Shehbaz Sharif, passed away in London yesterday. She was ill for a long time. She will be buried in Lahore.
