Coronavirus: Pakistani experts successfully test vaccine

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani experts have successfully tested a vaccine to deal with the coronavirus in collaboration with China. The approval of the vaccine is expected within three months.

According to sources, 2,500 people in Islamabad, 1,400 in Karachi, and 800 in Lahore were vaccinated and recovered after contracting the deadly virus.

Dr. Iqbal, Vice-Chancellor of Shifa University, said the trial results could take up to three months because the antibody test will be done 56 days after the vaccination. Dr. Iqbal said the case would be heard in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Canada.

Dr. Ata-ur-Rehman, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Science and Technology, said the Pfizer vaccine developed to prevent coronavirus is not suitable for Pakistan.

According to him, we should focus on other vaccines instead of Pfizer.” In my opinion, this vaccine is not suitable for Pakistan,” he said.

Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman said he was working silently, explaining that he was cautious because he believed there were still many issues with the vaccine.
