ISLAMABAD: Another emergency meeting of inter-provincial education ministers will be summoned next week on 23rd November to decide whether to close schools due to the rising coronavirus cases.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood convened the meeting where it was decided that all the educational institutes will remain open the whole week despite the rising cases.
However, in an upcoming meeting which will be held on next Monday, it will be decided whether to close the schools or not. In the context of coronavirus, no decision could be made regarding school closures and winter vacations.
Some education ministers supported and some opposed the winter holidays from November to January. Shafqat Mahmood said that the final decision regarding educational institutions would be taken by the National Coordinating Committee. Coronavirus cases in educational institutions have risen alarmingly.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said that no decision has been taken today regarding the closure of schools in Punjab. The next meeting will be on Monday to further assess the situation in coronavirus.
Coronavirus cases have been reported in several educational institutions in Pakistan and coronavirus cases are on the rise in the country. The district administration has sealed the relevant departments and classes after coronavirus cases were reported in three universities in Islamabad.
