FATEHPUR: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenager in a village in India’s Uttar Pradesh, according to the district police.
According to details, the minor was playing outside her house when the 15-year-old neighbour took her to an abandoned site and sexually assaulted her.
Later, the victim narrated the ordeal to her mother following which a police complaint was filed and a case registered. Station House Officer (SHO) RK Singh said, “A case has been registered on the complaint of victim’s family. We have detained the accused.”
The police official further informed that a medical examination of the minor was also conducted by the concerned authorities. Investigations were underway.
The FIR was lodged on the charges of rape (section 376 of Indian Penal Code) and under the protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Earlier on October 29, an unidentified employee of a leading multispecialty private hospital was booked on the charge of raping a 21-year-old tuberculosis (TB) patient, who was in a semi-conscious state and on a ventilator.
The victim gained consciousness six days later, on October 27 and wrote a note to her father, writing down the name of the alleged rapist. Later, the woman’s family filed a complaint of rape with police.
