ISLAMABAD: At least 672 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Pakistan and the total number of active cases has reached 8,702.
According to the National Command and Operations Center, eight people have lost their lives in Corona in the last 24 hours across the country. The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 6,474 across the country and the total number of cases has reached 311,516.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh has reached 136,395. 99,292 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,726 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,177 in Balochistan, 16,532 in Islamabad, 2,663 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 3,730 in Gilgit.

The coronavirus has claimed 2,234 deaths in Punjab and 2,495 in Sindh, while the death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,259, Islamabad to 181, Balochistan to 145, Gilgit-Baltistan to 88 and Azad Kashmir to 72 ۔
There are facilities for corona patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for corona patients in hospitals is 1,920.
There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities. According to the government, the graph of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is constantly coming down but the threat is not over yet.
The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan was registered on 26th February and one thousand deaths occurred by 21st May. The health ministry has said that the pace of cases has slowed, but caution is still needed.
