Five killed as speeding truck hits rickshaw in Lahore

Five of a family burnt alive as vehicle catches fire on Hazara Motorway

LAHORE: Five people were killed on Saturday morning when a speeding truck rammed into a rickshaw in Lahore.
The incident occurred on Defence Road in Lahore resulting in death of five people on the spot. The victims were identified as Shahzad, Zahid Ali, Mohammad Farooq, Zaryab and Hasnain.
The bodies were moved to a hospital for legal formalities. Police revealed that the people on the motorcycle rickshaw were headed to a factory when the accident occurred.
In a separate incident, a speeding trailer truck collided with a goods train at the Babri Railway crossing in Mastung district of Balochistan on Friday.
The driver of the trailer was wounded in the accident while the engine and two bogies of the goods train derailed. Levies officials reached the spot and shifted the injured driver to hospital.
Traffic was blocked at the National Highway due to accident and was later restored by the levies officials.
