KARACHI: Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that Prime Minister would visit Karachi to announce a financial package for resolving issues faced by the people of the metropolis.
While talking to a private news channel program, Imran Ismail said the prime minister directed the officials concerned to finalize the ‘Karachi Transformation Plan’ during the current week in consultation with all stakeholders to tackle issues pertaining to the major city.
He said that the package for Karachi could be made from 100 to 150 billion rupees. The Prime Minister, he said, was well aware of the problems of people living in Karachi areas.
Governor Sindh said the Army and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) were effectively working to provide relief to the people of Karachi in this critical situation.
He said that the prime minister talked to chief minister Sindh and assured of his cooperation. Imran Ismail said a three-point program given by the PM would be implemented in coordination with the Sindh government to resolve issues in Karachi.
The federal government will take more steps to overcome the economic crisis besides providing more eases to the nationals hit by inflation, he added.
About the relief program, he said under Ehsaas Program, the relief has been provided to masses across the country without political interference.
In reply to a question about trouble in power supply during and after heavy rain that lashes Karachi and adjoining areas, he said there are some complaints of the general public about K-Electric.
Commenting on the new Administrator of the metropolis, the governor was of the view that the appointment of the person intending to looking after the issues of the city, should not be controversial.
