ISLAMABAD: Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Shibli Faraz has reiterated that the PTI-led federal government was striving hard to control the inflation and stable prices of essential commodities.

Addressing a press conference along with Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam in Islamabad, Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to bring down prices of essential commodities to provide relief to the people.

Giving details on the price hike, the federal minister informed that there are several reasons for the price hike and one of them is hoarding. “The federal government is committed to exposing the hoarders and every possible step will be taken in this regard,” he added.

On the occasion, Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam said that the government was determined to ensure the provision of wheat in the country.

He said, “The government has decided to import wheat, which will help in stabilizing the prices of flour,” adding that the government was making a comprehensive planning with regard to the wheat.

Commenting on the agriculture sector, he said that the government was also paying special attention to the agriculture sector in the best interest of the country.
