Heavy rain expected in most parts of country today

ISLAMABAD: Heavy rain is expected in most parts of the country today.

Rain in other parts of the country including Islamabad and Karachi made the weather pleasant. According to the Meteorological Department, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, including Islamabad, are likely to receive more rain with thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, while Kashmir is also likely to receive showers with strong winds and thundershowers.

The weather will remain hot and humid in different parts of the country including Balochistan and Sindh. However, rain is expected in Lasbela, Zhob, Barkhan, and Khuzdar. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain likely to hit Karachi again after 15th August.

Light and heavy rain in Karachi this morning caused water to accumulate on various roads, causing difficulties to the people, however, drainage is still going on.

Moreover, the Supreme Court has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to clean all drains and remove encroachments around them within three months in Karachi.
