Ayushmann criticised for supporting Rhea Chakraborty in suicide case

MUMBAI: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana is being criticised on social media after he showed his support for actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

As the late actor’s girlfriend gets probed on charges of abetment to suicide, the Gulabo Sitabo actor stepped forward to take her side by leaving a broken heart emoji on her post.

Soon after that, the actor was lashed with hateful comments with some suggesting that his tweet came because he has to survive Bollywood and he is an artist of the Yash Raj Films.

Actor Kamal R. Khan turned to Twitter and said, “Ayushman Khurana is supporting #RheaChakraborty and nepo kids for 3 reasons! 1) He has to survive in Bollywood. 2) He is the artist of #YRF. 3) Sushant Singh was his competitor! Don’t worry Khurana. Your films will also come n public will give you a perfect reply. All the best.”

In another tweet, actress Kangana Ranaut also slammed the actor and wrote, “‘Chaploos outsiders’ for supporting Rhea Chakraborty in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.‘Chaploos outsiders’ for supporting Rhea Chakraborty in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.”

Ayushmann Khurrana had worked with Rhea Chakraborty on the music video ‘O Heeriye’, which release just a year after his debut in Bollywood. Rhea is currently accused of laundering money from her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput’s bank account.

Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment on 14th June  2020. While Mumbai Police has called it a case of suicide, Bihar Police had started investigating in the matter after Sushant’s father KK Singh wrote an FIR with the Patna Police accusing Rhea of money laundering, among other charges.
