RAWALPINDI: City’s Development Authority (RDA) officers continued fake operations against illegal housing societies, it has been revealed.
According to details, the city’s development authority has not taken any legal action against the housing societies and no housing societies’ offices have been sealed yet.
However, the officials have removed the banners of illegal and fake housing societies in order to complete their progress report. Sources have informed that senior RDA officials are patronizing some of the illegal societies’ owners.
Sources further informed that more than 80 illegal and fake housing societies had set up their offices in various plazas across the cities. Instead of taking legal actions against the housing offices, the RDA officials only issue fake notification and remove banners.
Sources also said that the RDA officials inform the society owners before any operation against the societies. In this regard, the corrupt officials receive a huge amount of bribe.
Earlier, Capital Development Authority (CDA) and district administration carried out a fake operation against the illegal societies in Ghauri Town area of Islamabad.
According to details, officers of CDA and district administration along with a heavy contingent of police raided Ghauri Town in order to demolish illegal structures. However, the CDA and the district administration, in a very clever manner, joined hands with the owners of the societies and only attached seal notices on the closed office of the property.
