PIA increases domestic flight operations

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in its Independence Day (Jashne Azadi) offer has announced a 14 percent discount on flights operating on its primary domestic routes between Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
According to PIA spokesperson, “The Jashne Azadi offer is announced in order to celebrate the 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan.”
“The discount offer is valid from August 07 till 14, 2020”, the spokesman added. An unprecedented 73 kgs Free Baggage Allowance per passenger is also being offered to commemorate the occasion.

PIA will recommence its flights from Multan, Sukkur and Gwadar on August 13 to show solidarity with the nation and reaffirm its resolve to returning the Aviation Industry back to normalcy post-COVID-19 crisis.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to resume domestic flight operations from all except a few airports from Aug 6, confirmed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Thursday.
The announcement, however, excludes Turbat, Pangjur, Dalbadin, Zhob, Pasni, Moenjodaro, Nawabshah, and Bahawalpur airports.
“All operators will be required to implement the established guidelines, SOPs, and to seek prior schedule approval from the Competent Authority,” said authority through a tweet.
“Moreover, Cargo, Special flights and Private Aircraft Operations will also be available for all Airports subjected to compliance with relevant SOPs,” it added.

Government of Pakistan has been pleased to allow Domestic Flight Operations to/ from all Airports except Turbat, Pangjur, Dalbadin, Zhob, Pasni, Moenjodaro, Nawabshah and Bahawalpur airports, with effect from midnight of 6th August, 2020, PST.

On July 7, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had announced to further reduce the fare for domestic flights.
A spokesman for the PIA said there had been a historic reduction in domestic fares. According to the spokesperson, the one-way fare from Karachi to Islamabad and from Karachi to Lahore has been fixed at Rs 9,572 while passengers will also be permitted to carry 7 kg of hand luggage.
The discounted fares would be effective immediately, the spokesperson added. This is the second such announcement as only Last week, the officials of the PIA, announced a reduction of fares for domestic flights.
According to a notification, Rs 12, 000 has been fixed for one-way ticket inclusive of all taxes for different destinations including Islamabad and other cities.
