Kohat police interrogate man impersonating as army officer

KOHAT: Police have started investigating the criminal activities of a suspect who was arrested last week impersonating as a military officer in Kohat.
Police have recovered a wide range of items including six vehicles, arms and ammunition, military uniform, insignia, fake currency, dozens of bank cheques, passports, and falsified documents from his possession.
The suspect, who is now under custody, was involved in a wide range of criminal activities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has also reportedly confessed to several crimes during the initial investigation.
He was presented in a local court and a two-day physical remand was granted after which he was handed over for further interrogation.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, the suspect was arrested from a posh locality KDA Kotal Township after receiving information and carrying raids in various parts of the city. The suspect, identified as Amir Hasan, would claim he is from the Pakistan Army and works for intelligence agencies and then loot people.
KDA police station SHO Tahir Nawaz said the law enforcers have started further investigation. He said several FIR’s had already been registered against for fraud in the FIA and KDA police station.
A fake uniform, cash and stolen items were seized from the suspect’s possession when he was arrested in a raid at his house. The suspect hails from Parachinar, South Waziristan, and also defrauding people in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Swat, Kohat, Hangu and other cities. He was also involved in vehicle smuggling and make bogus postings.
