SAN FRANCISCO: WhatsApp went down for its 2 billion users earlier on Wednesday, however, service has now been restored.
According to details, WhatsApp went down leaving millions of users without the ability to send or receive messages for nearly an hour. Reportedly, the application would open but users were unable while experiencing service issues.
Although the problem was fixed immediately, with more than two billion people on the service, even the short span outages can hit a huge number of people.
During the issue, conversations were loading, but new messages would refuse to send within those chats. “Earlier today, an internal update made to our WhatsApp servers caused some people to have trouble sending messages,” WhatsApp said in a statement.
