West Indies beat England by 4-wicket in first Test

SOUTHAMPTON: Jermaine Blackwood made a superb 95 as the West Indies beat England by four wickets in the first Test match at Southampton today (Sunday).
According to details, England set a target of 200 runs on the last day of the Test. However, the visitors’ top order was burnt to a crisp by Jofra Archer as they began their chase. They reached the Lunch break at 35/3.
Middle-order batsman Jermaine Blackwood played a clam and superb innings of 95 runs, in sight of just his second test match. However, he failed to score his maiden hundred and was caught out on the delivery stand-in England Captain Ben stokes.
West Indies captain Jason Holder and John Campbell, batting with an injured toe, guided the team to a win with 4 wickets in hand in the last hour of play.
Earlier, England was bowled out for 313 within the first half-hour of Day 5, with fast bowler Shannon Gabriel completing a five-wicket haul for the innings.
Fast bowler Shannon Gabriel was named man of the match for his 9-wicket in the first test match. It is pertinent to mention here that the West Indies have not won a Test series in England for 32 years.
