ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani citizens stranded in Abu Dhabi have appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to take steps to repatriate them back to the country.
One of the citizens Azhar among other Pakistanis who went to Abu Dhabi on a visit visa has been stranded in UAE’s capital due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Azhar and other stranded citizens in a video statement stated that they had come to visit the country but due to sudden lockdown they have been stranded in Abu Dhabi for almost three months.
According to the victims, they had bought the tickets of the Etihad Airways which were valid till 29th March, however, the air operation in Pakistan was suspended due to the epidemic before the date of their departure.
He continued, “Now we are in a very difficult situation here in Abu Dhabi, as we have no food and drink facilities, we ran out of money, and we are living with someone here in the country, there is less space to live.”
The victims appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan they had already bought tickets from Etihad Airways, “We have nothing to pay extra and our family is worried for us.” They appealed to the prime minister that they should be brought to the home-country as soon as possible.
